Finding vegan Passover recipes can be challenging… especially when many ingredients in vegan recipes might not be considered kosher for Passover. I’ve refrained from including certain vegan recipes that might not suit Passover but understand that some foods might be considered Kosher or not Kosher depending on each person (ex. some don’t eat rice and beans while others do.)
Here is a list of all my possible vegan Passover mains, appetizers, and desserts you might be able to enjoy! Leave a comment letting me know of other ideas you want me to make a vegan recipe for Passover!
VEGAN PASSOVER RECIPES
Vegan Matzah Ball & Matzah Ball Soup (2 hours)
In this recipe, I show you how to make easy matzah balls for matzah ball soup using all vegan ingredients! This recipe was created from the heart and I hope you enjoy it during your vegan Passover. Get the recipe here!
The Best Hummus (1 hour 25 mins)
For those who eat kitniyot during Passover, I wanted to include this incredible hummus that is loved by many readers of The Edgy Veg. You can also make it the day before or send the recipe to someone in the family to ensure the creamiest hummus makes its way to your meal. Get the recipe here!
Vegan Latkes (20 mins + Egg-Free)
This vegan latkes recipe uses the liquid from a can of chickpeas along with flour (which can be gluten-free flour of choice)! These crispy fried latkes will taste just like the original recipe, but egg-free and delicious . My preference is dipping latkes in apple sauce but you could also have a side of vegan sour cream! Comment below if you’re team sour cream or team apple sauce for vegan latkes. Get the recipe here!
BBQ Style Vegan Brisket (1 hour 20 mins)
I thought I would include this recipe for a barbeque-style brisket as briskets are popular for Passover as I continue to work on making an authentic vegan brisket for you. It is different from the flavour of traditional Passover brisket but is great for a modern twist on a Passover classic. Unfortunately, seitan is also considered chametz, so please use discretion if this is an appropriate meal for your Passover celebration. Get the recipe here!
Vegan Smoked Salmon | Vegan Lox (10 mins + Gluten-Free)
Why eat fish when you can have vegan smoked salmon for Passover! This recipe does include soy sauce and rice flour but works with those who eat kitniyot during Passover. Make-ahead to make preparation easy and serve on its own, on top of unleaved bread or with veggies to avoid chametz at your table. Get the recipe here!
Kale Sweet Potato Salad (30 mins + Gluten-Free)
This vegan salad pairs well with classic Passover dishes, as well as sneaking in some much-needed nutrients to keep your energy going for the week. This salad can include quinoa and understand not everyone considers quinoa kosher for Passover, so you could omit it! But if you eat quinoa during Passover, you’ll love this salad! Get the recipe here!
Vegan Charcuterie Board (10 mins)
This is my guide to building the ultimate vegan grazing table. Think: charcuterie but bigger. You can add absolutely anything to a grazing table, making it easy to adjust to your dietary restrictions and accessibility of ingredients during Passover. Find it here!
Vegan Mushroom Steak (29 mins + Gluten-Free)
For a simple vegan meat replacement that contains no chametz, you can make this mushroom steak. Just marinade it and season as you would with any traditional Passover flavours. Get the recipe here!
Cucumber Salad with Dill (10 mins + Gluten-Free)
This fresh and crisp salad pairs very well with rich and savoury foods that you find at a Passover Sader. It’s simple and so quick! Get the recipe here!
Vegan Fried Egg (1 hour + Gluten-Free)
One of the items on a Passover Sader plate is an egg. While vegans don’t eat eggs, this recipe is the closest you can get. It looks, tastes and smells like an egg and makes an amazing alternative to Beitzah. Get the recipe here!
Vegan Ice Cream (30 mins + Gluten-Free)
For a vegan Passover dessert, you could make my vegan ice cream! It’s a vegan cookie dough ice cream that uses gluten-free flour and coconut cream/milk! You can always substitute any vegan ingredient with one that suits your desire! Get the recipe here!
