Hot Honey Recipe – Vegan Approved

Vegan Hot Honey Recipe

You know, I have never heard of “hot honey” until the TikTok algorithm brought it to my attention? Yes. You heard it right, hot honey is a balance of sweet and spicy honey that can be used as a topping on any dishes like cheese, salad, cocktail, even just on any type of bread to spice it up! The options are endless and I definitely did not want my vegan community to miss out on this one-of-a-kind honey sauce.

You don’t have to pay a premium on buying these Hot Honey sauces anymore. All you need for this recipe is apple honey and some chili peppers. You can also use any type of vegan-friendly honey alternatives made from different fruits here. Or walk into your favorite local health food stores for more options.

After you choose your favorite vegan honey flavor, you just have to simmer the honey with some hot chili peppers. The longer you let the combination sit together, the spicier your honey will get!

Alternative ways to make this recipe:

If you cannot find vegan honey, you can substitute the ingredients with agave or maple syrup to achieve a stronger level of sweetness.

Hot Honey

Honey is one of the controversial topics in veganism. This is because honey is made by bees and bees eat it to survive the winter season, and eating honey will eliminate the food supplies for the bees. As a result, we coined the term “beegans” for vegans who still eat honey in their diets as an exception. However, if you would like to eliminate honey in your diet and are curious about the “no-bee alternative”, this recipe is a great way to start.

Don’t forget to try this on pizza, vegan fried chicken, or even as salad dressings

How many servings does this make?

This recipe makes about 1 cup of vegan hot honey.
