Red Pickled Onions
You can add red pickled onions as toppings on any of your favorite sandwiches, salads, tacos or any dish that can use more color to your plate. This recipe only takes 10 minutes or less to make, and you can stock your fridge with beautiful pink pickled onions to eat at anytime.
This recipe is so easy to make and adds a bright flavour to any dish. All you need to do is boil water, mix in the sugar, salt and vinegar, then stuff a jar with thinly sliced red onions. Pour the liquid over the onions, let cool and add a lid then keep in the fridge for a minimum of 8 hours before enjoying on anything you’d like!

This recipe makes enough to fill a 2 cup jar, and you can use as much or as little at a time.

INGREDIENTS FOR PICKLED ONIONS (VEGAN):
KITCHEN EQUIPMENT:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 1 red onion very thinly sliced
- Boil water, vinegar, salt, sugar together to dissolve, pack onions into a jar, pour over the liquid to cover.
- Let cool, top with lid and keep in the fridge until ready to use.
