I’m going to show you how to make my easy tofu tuna recipe! This vegan “tuna” takes only 2 mins to mix together & recommend placing it in the fridge for 30 mins to marinate for a better authentic tuna taste (which non-vegans won’t even know the difference!)
All you have to do is grate tofu into flakey tuna chunks, and mix together 5 tasty ingredients that will turn your tofu into “tuna”.

How To Make Tofu Tuna
Most vegan tuna recipes use chickpeas, but I discovered that shredded tofu is one of the best substitutes to get a vegan tuna lookalike! Plus I always have tofu in my fridge.
Like most “tuna”, the flavour is best when it sits in the fridge for a few hours, or minimum of 30 mins, for flavours to absorb, but it is also delicious when enjoyed right away. Tofu gives this recipe the best tuna texture and appearance and the chosen seasonings make it taste so much like the real thing!

- 1 cup grated tofu
- ½ cup plant-based mayo
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1-2 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp kelp powder
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
- Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and place in the fridge to marinate for a minimum of 30 mins and up to 5 days. You could eat it right away, but highly recommend letting it marinate in the fridge for a little bit for the best result.
- Enjoy your tofu tuna in salads, on tuna melts or on a tunacado sandwich!
