Vegan McDonalds Burger

Vegan McDonalds Burger (Vegan Double Cheeseburger)If you’re craving a vegan version of a McDonald’s double cheeseburger you’ve found the right recipe.

This Vegan McDonalds Burger recipe is only 7 ingredients (including toppings) and made in 9 minutes. Why spend more money on fast food, when it’s cheaper to make these plant-based versions at home!

If you’re looking for more Vegan McDonalds burger recipes, you can also try my Vegan Big Mac recipe or even my 2-mins Vegan Big Mac Sauce for any burger and fries!

Vegan Double CheeseburgerJust by taking a plant-based burger patty, you can make something quick for dinner that will have you saying “I’m lovin’ it”. Sorry I had to say it!

Make sure you pair this vegan McDonalds burger with classic fries and a Coke for ultimate food McMemories.

I made my burgers using Beyond Meat ground beef and forming it into 2 thin patties for that fast-food feel. You can also take a beyond meat burger and cut in half to make two thin patties! I like to use Beyond Meat for this recipe, but feel free to use your favourite veggie burgers.

You could also just make a vegan McDonalds Cheeseburger without doubling the patty and cheese slice (like for a vegan kids cheeseburger).

DAIRY-FREE & VEGAN

This vegan twist on a classic burger will fulfil any nostalgic McDonald’s memories of biting into a savoury, cheesy double cheeseburger. The thin patty method is really what takes a store-bought plant-based patty from family barbeque to fast-food classic.

Instructions
  1. In a large pan over medium-high heat, cook each burger patty in the pan for 2-3 mins per side.
  2. At the same time, in the same pan, toast each side of the bun.
  3. Now build your burger. Place a burger patty on the bottom bun, followed by a slice of vegan cheese, then a second burger patty, another slice of cheese, 3+ round pickle slices, diced onion, and ketchup and mustard spread on the top bun.
  4. Microwave or stream the whole double cheeseburger for 15 seconds to get that authentic fast food taste.
NOTES: I like to use beyond meat ground for the patties because I can make them ⅛ inch thick like McDonalds does.

  • Keriann Woodhams says:

This recipe was so good, so nostalgic… I also used beyond meat patties, they were the perfect substitute to the old double patty from Mcdonalds. I added extra pickle and onion – just the way I like it, made fresh and to perfection.

  • I love the double patty! Makes me feel like I’m indulging big time whoo whoo

  • So me and the boyfriend made the vegan McDonald’s cheeseburger and Big Mac (just split them so we could have half of each). I never really had a Big Mac (boyfriend did and he loved it) but I had McDonald’s cheeseburgers as a kid and this vegan version reminded me of my happy meals so nostalgia really hit! It was delicious and really hope more non-vegans try it out as a way to still eat delicious fast food while limiting animal meat! Definitely sharing these McDonald’s recipes!

    • Aww thanks Sarah for sharing! This makes me happy to hear! Love the idea of making both the double cheeseburger and big mac and splitting them to do a taste test!
