Vegan White Chocolate Recipe

Would you believe it if I told you that “White Chocolate” is not real chocolate? Yes, we have all been fooled. White chocolate is not really chocolate because it does not use coca in the ingredients. Instead, white chocolate consists of cocoa butter, sugar, and some sort of dairy or non-dairy alternatives with a pinch of salt. Today, we are making Vegan White Chocolate. Trust me, it’s one of the best substitutes for many chocolate-inspired desserts.

White Chocolate

Unlike the traditional white chocolates, this recipe uses a non-dairy substitute, replicating the rich and creamy flavours combined with the sweetness of regular white chocolate. It is also incredibly easy to make and just needs a blender, pan and a microwave. See instructions below.

What else can I use this recipe for?

It’s amazing on its own but you can also make Vegan White-Chocolate Chip Cookies with some cranberries and macadamia nuts. Or if you are feeling festive, add some peppermint candy chunks with some dark chocolates and experiment with this Peppermint Bark recipe. How about a white-chocolate popcorn for your next Neflix show?

This quick and easy vegan white chocolate recipe perfectly pairs with dark chocolate, dried cranberries, rice crispy cereal, crushed candy canes and many other toppings!

  • Super easy and this white chocolate is so decadent! I dipped some peanut butter cookies in them and used the rest to make peanut butter cups. They were so delicious, my husband flipped out and demanded that I make more! lol I’ve struggled to find really good vegan white chocolate for the past 10 years so I’m so thankful to find this recipe! Thanks so much!

  • Does it have to be sooo sweet?

  • Where would I buy soy milk powder? I’ve never seen it!

  • Could I use coconut milk powder in place of the soy milk powder?

  • Quick question: making this for a family gathering, and we’ve got someone who has an anaphylactic allergy to cashews (and she’s four, so she’d be heartbroken to not be allowed to eat the chocolate!) are there any other nut butters or other substitutes we could use in place of the cashew butter?

Thank you for this awesome recipe!!

  • Leila Jabara says:

Does the cashew butter need to be raw?

  • What is the purpose of soy milk powder, and is there a substitution?

    • EdgyVeg says:

It is necessary for thickening, setting and texture. There is no substitution I can think of recommending right now, as I have not tested any.

  • Could I use almond butter instead of cashew??

    • You could… but cashews have no real flavour, so it make a more authentic dessert. If you use almonds it will taste like an almond fudge rather than white chocolate.
