We’ve all seen those just-add-water oatmeal to-go cups, they’re perfect for when you’re in a hurry or on the go. They’re great when you’re in a hurry, but I find them to be a bit lacklustre compared to my dream breakfast. Luckily, they are super easy to take to the next level. Together, we’re going to jack-up that oatmeal to-go and make it taste like hours of work, instead of just a couple mins! Just take a handful of your favourite, nuts, seeds and dried fruit and add them to a small container. You could even have another container of fresh fruit or berries, if you’re into that. Now, pack a small jar of your favourite plant-based milk. Then, when you’re hungry, simply add some hot water to the oatmeal, wait 3 mins and then top with your milk and add your mix of nuts, dried fruit and fresh fruit or berries! Voila! a healthy breakfast in a pinch.

Place all desired toppings into a small container, and almond milk into a small jar.
When you get hungry simply add hot water to the oatmeal to-go cup, cover and let sit for 3 mins. After 3 mins give it a stir and top with toppings of choice and almond milk.
I was never much of an oatmeal person, to be honest. However, I think that the reason this may be is because I’ve never made my own oatmeal mix. I’m allergic to most nuts (except for peanuts, almonds, and coconut). I’m also allergic to flax seed. So, I’m thinking of making my own oatmeal mix to work around my limitations. Thank you for this great post!
My trick to jacking up oatmeal? Peanut butter. ALWAYS. LOL! But in all seriousness, I absolutely hate oatmeal bowls that pretty much just consist of plain oatmeal cooked in water with a little cinnamon or banana. It’s so boring. I adore your take on this beloved breakfast with the dried fruit, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts! I would love to try these oatmeal cups one day. They look perfect for a busy day!
