Three Easy Margarita Recipes

Margarita recipes

The end of April is upon us and spring is trying really hard to come out of the woodwork. I have been buying tulips weekly to inspire some friendly bird-song, sunshine, and hot weather to come my way—I think it might be working…

The first real celebration of spring after Easter is one that combines some of my favourite items; Mexican food, cultural-awareness, upbeat music, and tequila. This celebration is of course– Cinco De Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo (or the fifth of May) is a celebration to commemorate the Mexican army’s victory over France in 1862. I am not sure the true message of Cinco de Mayo has totally translated over to the celebration we know today, and has evolved in a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage instead; showcasing mariachi music, Mexican cuisine, traditional performances, street festivals and of course– parades. I personally see this holiday as a reason to eat even more delicious Mexican cuisine (one of my favourites) and drink some festive Margs with my loved ones.

Most party-savvy folks know how to make a basic Margarita, so showcasing that recipe seemed a bit stale to me. I decided instead to show you how to make some delicious twists on a traditional favourite.

Below you will find my 3 favourite Margarita recipes in no particular order. The Orange Margarita, the Spicy Grapefruit Margarita and the cool Cucumber Margarita! Leave me a comment below on your favourite Cinco De Mayo tradition, and your favourite Margarita recipe! Happy Fiesta!
