I am firm believer that store-bought salad dressings are the epitome of health washing in the food world today. They are full of fake flavours, garbage GMO oils, excess salts, MSG, and refined or fake sugars such as high fructose corn syrup (which is actually PROVEN to make you dumber) with a couple pinches of herbs.
These things are far from healthy, and are down-right dangerous. WTF is titanium dioxide anyway? Ohhhh, it’s used not only in your favourite dressing as a colour brightener, but also in paint for the same reason. The kicker? It often contains lead. Yup, LEAD. Yummers….
Why are we buying this poison when it takes us a mere 10 minutes to make our own? It is this idiotic purchasing of “convenience foods” that is making us sick, and will eventually kill us.
Want Asian inspired dressing? Make it yourself! It takes 10 minutes, tastes incredible, and yes… it will eventually go bad at the back of your refrigerator. –This is a good thing.
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ¼ cup tamari
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cane sugar
- ½ tbsp lime juice
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- Place all of your ingredients in a blender and whizz until well combined. Don't have a blender? No problem! Just mix all ingredients together in a mason jar and shake until well combined.
