Chocolate for Breakfast: Chocolate Granola Recipe


Chocolate is a magical food. It is delicious, indulgent, and makes you feel happy and blissful when you consume it. Wouldn’t it make sense to start the day off with something so lovely?  …That’s what I thought.

Chocolate can be a super food, and when mixed with other super foods like nuts and seeds, and protein rich oats you have yourself a delicious and nutritious breakfast. It has often been used to help in the curing of depression, so it only makes sense to eat it in the morning in order to get happy at 6am!

Trix are for kids, but Chocolate Granola is for the vibrant and sexy woman, am I right ladies?

3 cups whole rolled oats

1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

1 cup almonds, chopped

¼ cup sunflower seeds

¼ cup hemp seeds

1/3 cup maple syrup or agave

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup raw vegan chocolate chunks

1/2 cup dried strawberries or cranberries

Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment

In a small bowl, mix melted coconut oil, sweetener of choice and salt and mix until well combined. In a larger bowl add nuts, seeds and oats, and mix well. Pour liquid mixture over dry mixture and mix until well combined and well-coated.

Bake for 20-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and toss with chocolate and dried fruit. Store covered at room temperature for up to three weeks.

To serve: cut up fresh fruit like raspberries and enjoy with your favourite non dairy milk. Almond mylk is my favourite!
