So I went out drinking last night. It was the first time I ‘ve had alcohol since I started my Pre Cleanse. considering what I did to myself last night I felt REALLY good this morning! I hopped out of bed, poked at T for a while until he told me to eff odd and then waltzed into the kitchen to make some yummy breakfast juice. The combination of grapefruit, orange and lime was exactly what I needed. I drank it with some spirulina and B12 tincture. It is so beautiful outside, I think I will slop on some sunscreen and go outside — and that is exactly what I did.
I packed up a quick salad, some coconut water, some regular water, a hat, a book on Raw Food, a bather and a towel and head up to the lawn chair patio. Delightful, I could honestly just sit outside all day long. I love the heat and I love the sun, so I have to be very careful not to overdo it. I always tell people– The summer is THE best time to have a hangover, all you need is some coconut water, a banana and some sunshine. Go outside and take a nap all day!
After a few hours I decided to pack it and do some writing on the balcony instead. It is the best place to sit in the city. With the right music and snacks, I kind of feel like I am on vacation. Play the video below and you will be in my magical world with me! I was totally born in the wrong era, or maybe I just romanticize a bit too much on what I would do, given another lifetime. I made the most delicious drunken milkshake of all time. I will post the recipe below, and you should make it! Like right now!
I decided to eat cooked food for dinner tonight. I haven’t cooked for poor T in a while, and he really doesn’t cook for himself, so he is long overdue for a nice meal at home. I made yummy sweet potato and black been burritos in sprouted tortillas with guac and BBq’d corn. It was delightful. We sat on the balcony and ate by candlelight with our favourite Motown hits playing in the background. It was romantic really. Dinner was followed by dancing the twist all the way to the kitchen with our plates and then having a swing dance-off for about 5 minutes. Yeah, we’re a couple of weirdos.
Drunk vegan milkshakes
Dessert was a tart homemade raspberry limade spiked with Sagatiba Cachaça. This is probably where our fantastic dance moves came from. After a long day and one too many wobblypops, it is time to hit the hay early! Drink 1L of water before you go to bed and keep one on your nightstand for when you awake!
Drunken Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshake Recipe:
1 can full fat coconut milk (chilled so that the fat hardens)
1- 1 1/2 cups almond milk
2 oz Frangelico
2oz Creme de Cacao
Scoop out the fat from the coconut milk, and add with other ingredients into your high speed blender. Blend until well combined, pour into a chilled glass, add straw and enjoy!
